Additional gun tax proposal

Additional gun tax proposal

There is a proposed gun tax that would increase taxes on people’s gun. A proposed gun tax would add an additional $200 dollar tax on gun purchases. Another part of the proposal would have people have to pay an $200 of tax on guns they already own. Owner of Carter shooting supply Kristi Manning said this tax would hurt business because people won’t want to pay even more money in taxes on guns. She said this also doesn’t solve a gun violence problem, she said it only impacts law abiding citizens. I think they’ll be a lot of things that happen were the only ones who are going to do it are legally armed citizens that would oppose it. Your criminals are not going to turn their guns in and pay the tax,” said Manning. Manning said although it would likely hurt sales if it passed, she doesn’t not expect the proposal to pass.
