Big Win for SAF, Defense Distributed, on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk

Mandeville, LA – It’s a big win for both free speech rights and gun rights, looking at gunsmithing as a career, and more, this Sunday on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk®, the original nationally-syndicated talk show about guns and the shooting sports. Second Amendment Foundation’s Alan Gottlieb has had a very busy summer, and stops by to tell Tom all about the latest legal battles. In addition to filing a lawsuit in California over the state’s flawed gun registration system this week, news has finally broken about a settlement with the Department of Justice in the lawsuit filed on behalf of Cody Wilson and Defense Distributed back in 2015. From SAF’s release : “Under terms of the settlement, the government has agreed to waive its prior restraint against the plaintiffs, allowing them to freely publish the 3-D files and other information at issue. Significantly, the government expressly acknowledges that non-automatic firearms up to .50-caliber – including modern semi-auto sporting rifles such as the popular AR-15 and similar firearms – are not inherently military.” “Not only is this a First Amendment victory for free speech, it also is a devastating blow to the gun prohibition lobby,” noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M.
