Centreville schools to dismiss early because of rally featuring Ted Nugent

(SBG/Mikenzie Frost) CENTREVILLE, Mich. — Officials in one small West Michigan village are preparing for hundreds of people to turn out to a political event featuring controversial rocker Ted Nugent. Nugent will appear in Centreville Friday as part of the Jack Coleman Presents Ted & Shemane Nugent Constitution Tour, featuring various Michigan Republican candidates for elected office. “It’s really crazy, Ted Nugent in a small town, I think that’s really cool,” Angie Davenport, a Centreville resident, said. Jan Morgan, a gun-rights activist and Arkansas politician, will be a featured speaker, organizers said. Rock-star Ted Nugent will appear in Centreville Sept. 17 as part of the Jack Coleman Presents Ted & Shemane Nugent Constitution Tour, featuring various Michigan republican candidates for elected office. Others worry attendees will be expressing their Second Amendment rights, and carrying guns blocks away from Centreville schools. Coleman, the event organizer who ran as a Republican candidate for the 59th Michigan House of Representatives in 2020, said he expects 600 people to attend Friday’s event on Main Street in Centreville.
