Clark County Board approves “2nd Amendment Support” Resolution –

Good to see. I wish every county would. Each county should also reject the unlawful sales tax the state of Illinois makes us pay for guns and ammo. They have no lawful authority to tax our right to keep and bear arms. The state of Illinois is unlawfully collecting sales tax on guns & ammo (arms), in direct violation of the Illinois constitution. Article 1, section 22 of the Illinois constitution states “Subject ONLY to the police power, the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”.It’s also important to note, the power to tax is NOT a police power. And besides, No one can logically argue taxation isn’t an infringement. The state of Illinois was granted the authority to raise revenue by the Illinois constitution; the catch is there is an exception to their power to raise revenue when it’s limited by Illinois Constitution. Article 9, section 1, of the Illinois constitution states: “The General Assembly has the exclusive power to raise revenue by law EXCEPT AS LIMITED or otherwise provided IN THIS CONSTITUTION. The power of taxation shall not be surrendered, suspended, or contracted away”.
