(AP) — A group of conservatives said Sunday that they’re preparing to launch a petition to recall Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, contending that the new Democratic governor and Democratically-controlled Legislature are passing or debating liberal legislation that infringes on freedoms, including gun rights. The group, called Fight for Nevada, held a rally at a park in Carson City in Sunday as lawmakers were winding down their legislative session about a mile away. Fight for Nevada filed paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office in May to form a recall committee, but the group’s president Angela Blass said they don’t intend to start gathering signatures until this fall. A message seeking comment from Sisolak’s office was not returned.
