PERRY, Iowa — Guthrie and Dallas counties are the latest to join the growing list. The counties are now ordering law enforcement not to enforce laws that, they say, violate gun rights. The Iowa Firearms Coalition drafted a resolution used by several counties. The group says the status doesn’t supersede federal law. Iowa’s Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties also include Mitchell, Chickasaw, Pocahontas, Hardin, Carroll, Jasper, Cedar, Washington, Madison, Mills, Adams, Clarke, Humboldt, Kossuth, Ringgold, Buchanan, Van Buren, Winnebago and Wayne.
