Gun Rights

Our government has determined that the Second Amendment to the Constitution allows for the unlimited possession of firearms by vetted citizens. Our country also is responsible for the protection of its citizens through the appropriation of taxpayers collections for expenditures like national defense, disease management, public roads safety, etc. Using these examples as a basis to protect our citizens, the federal government should expend funds to protect our citizens through the provision of trained safety officers at schools, workplaces, public areas and any area that presents a risk of injury or death due to gun violence. Furthermore, employers and businesses should take similar actions at their own expense to protect employees and customers from injury and/or death from gun violence similar to action to protect citizens from unsafe working conditions. Individuals should also have the right to have protective clothing and devices provided by the federal, state or municipal entities at no expense to the citizen to protect themselves from the national risk of gun violence. We have a right to expect protection from government and businesses for public safety concerns. I don’t want to wear bullet-proof protection whenever I go out or have a trained professional to protect where my family goes, but if we won’t limit the availability of guns, we need to pay for safety, just like we do for war or illness.
