Gun rights activists are celebrating because a judge rejected California’s ban on high-capacity magazines. Judge Roger Benitez declared unconstitutional a section of Proposition 63, approved by the state’s voters in 2016 after several mass shootings, which forbids possession of gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. 300×250 image ad This decision has been hailed by the NRA as they say that gun rights are being suppressed in California. In my opinion, I feel like there has to be another way than limiting magazines or banning certain kinds of guns. While I do support background checks for individuals buying a gun, I don’t think the logical solution to this problem is to limit magazines or ban certain kinds of guns. So I feel Californians should be happy with this decision as it won’t infringe on their 2nd Amendment rights.
