Issues of gun violence, gun rights take center stage at Everett town hall

(Photo: KOMO News) EVERETT—The issues of gun violence and school safety were front and center at Mariner High School in Everett. The gun violence forum hosted by U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Washington, coincided with gun town halls held all over the country Saturday. From parents, to first responders, to the young people whose lives are impacted by gun violence, the town hall at Mariner High School was lively and at times heated. The dialogue differed between those fighting to stay alive in school and those fighting to keep their gun rights. Marysville Getchell student Eden Au Nguyen said the issue of school safety hit home when she was a freshman.
