(WPBN) KALKASKA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — Impeaching Governor Gretchen Whitmer. While there’s no traction on this in the actual state legislature, one northern Michigan county said it’s still important to let everyone know where they stand on the issue. Nearly 140 miles northwest of Lansing, Kalkaska County. The roughly 17,000 people that call the area home are represented by seven commissioners, who said they want their voices to be heard. "The governor has overstepped her boundaries and violated the constitution,” Kalkaska County Commissioner David Comai said. “Mainly reflecting the SOS and her violation against our second amendment for the gun violation. The 2nd Amendment is being questioned." At the suggestion of some county residents, there is now a resolution for the county to support impeachment of Governor Gretchen Whitmer. It’s symbolic, but county officials said it’s still important. "To let our legislature know where we stand on our opinion on the governor’s actions,” Comai said. Comai said most of the people who reached out to him support the resolution. But others don’t think this is representative of how the county really feels.
