Florida Today Good thing DeSantis isn’t afraid of Big Tech What an important step forward for all the people of the state of Florida and an affirmation of the rights guaranteed under the First Amendment. Gov. DeSantis recently signed Florida’s "Big Tech Bill" (Senate Bill 7072) into law and essentially pulls back the curtains on social media platforms while holding them accountable for their unfair and biased censorship. As we are all aware, there have been way too many instances of censorship of opinions as well as deplatforming candidates when the social media site’s owners/management disagree. Thank heavens that we have a governor who isn’t afraid of Big Tech, and doesn’t cower to the political operatives who would silence everyone with an opposing viewpoint. Hopefully, other states will follow suit and adopt similar legislation. Great job, Gov. DeSantis and the Florida Senate. Anne Hallman, Melbourne Fluoride issue should never have gotten this far I was pleased to read that the Mims community will finally have the opportunity speak at a "meeting" regarding fluoridation in their water supply. But the Brevard County Commission should never have let things get this far. The comment by Commissioner Pritchett that she had sole authority to make this decision is in conflict with the Brevard County Charter, which states in Section 1.5 Division of Powers: "This Charter hereby establishes the separation between legislative and executive functions of Brevard County government.
