It’s strange that only a tiny percentage of shootings qualify as “mass shootings” but they get all the attention. It’s strange that, when a couple of dozen people are shot and 15 to 20 are killed in a week in gang-on-gang violence in Chicago — which, oddly enough, has some of the strictest gun laws in the country — it’s ignored by the anti-gun groups and the press. Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning. Could it be they know that the shooters are already prohibited from owning guns because they’re too young and/or convicted felons? Could it be they know that gun laws have no effect on criminals, because criminals are in the business of breaking laws? Could it be they know that publicizing only “mass shootings” contributes to their goal of disarming law-abiding citizens by penalizing us for the actions of criminals? News flash, folks: Law-abiding American citizens own over 300 million guns and billions of rounds of ammunition. If we were the problem, you’d know it. But we’re not the problem.
