Florida Today Why question Publix offering vaccine? To reporter Jeffrey Schweers, regarding the recent story about the partnership between the state of Florida and Publix: Why in the world are you trying to stir up this issue? Publix participation in the vaccine distribution is a good thing. Who cares if some unknown critic or critics gripe? I’m an unknown critic with as much stake in this as anyone. I don’t need to know what kind of deal was made with Publix. It worked. You could have written that some critics like myself don’t see a problem and if Publix makes a few bucks on the deal, think they’ve earned it. Dave Riemondy, Indialantic God missing in Second Amendment About that recent letter regarding God-given rights to own guns, "natural law" as understood by the founding fathers, and Jesus’ understanding of self defense. I studied the Second Amendment (it’s not very long, by the way) as carefully as I could, and was unable to find anything about God or "natural law" in it. Don’t get me wrong here. I believe in the right to own a gun, for many, but not everyone. That’s a matter for interpretation and decision by smarter people than me. But "God-given"? Don’t think so. One more thing. Isn’t it somewhat insulting to think (or believe) American liberals, whoever the writer thinks those are, would not fight for their lives when attacked? I bet that’s just wrong.
