Letters to the Editor: Penalties to Gun Makers a Solution for Gun Violence

I believe I have an answer to the firearm problem to the school children of the U.S. This answer is not in conflict to the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms. America has chosen in the few previous events to punish the manufacturers of both tobacco and opiates for the dangerous products that they make today. I personally believe that the manufacturers of military firearms should be forced to pay automatically, and without question $1 million to the descendents or parent or family of anyone killed with a military-style weapon, and that every bullet would should be worth $100,000, and any funeral and long-term care should become the responsibility of the manufacturer. If the manufacturers wish to sell the products to the public they must face the certainty that for an unknown portion of the public there will be injury or murders. They create the product but claim to have no responsibility how their product is being used, and that these products were used in horrible events recently in schools, churches, dinners and malls. It is also interesting that our Constitution in one sentence includes reference to an armed militia and the right to bear arms. The armed militia shootings happen about seven times a day in Western Washington. America is a sick society, and it feels as if America is at an all-time low in its morality.
