’Live free,’ speakers tell crowd at 2nd Amendment rally in Harrisburg

Right to Bear Arms Rally in Harrisburg HARRISBURG – Though drizzle hung in the air, more than 100 people still gathered on the Capitol steps late Tuesday morning as state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe wrapped up a 90-minute rally with two words, met with applause and loud cheers. “Live free,” Metcalfe said. While the rally was intended to bring people together to show their support for the Second Amendment and for gun rights, another theme emerged from many of the speakers who took the stage. That theme was one of opposition to many of the Wolf Administration’s coronavirus restrictions. State Rep. You can watch a Facebook Live recording of the rally here: The “Rally to Protect Your Right to Keep and Bear Arms” event, which has been held since 2006, was organized by Metcalfe, a Republican state representative from Butler County. Along with holding a rally, he encouraged attendees to visit their representatives and senators and let them know how they feel about their Constitutional rights and to voice their opposition to any gun-control legislation.
