Madison County, NE becomes Second Amendment sanctuary

MADISON, Neb. (KTIV) – The Madison County Board of Commissioners Tuesday adopted a resolution to make Madison County a Second Amendment sanctuary. This means if the federal government ever came to Madison County to take away someone’s guns, the county would not assist. The board held a public discussion on the topic at their last meeting. Those who attended were in favor of making the county a Second Amendment sanctuary. No board members had any objections to the resolution. "I think it was something that needed to be done. I think it’s a voice, that will not only be heard at the state level but at the federal level that we are in support of the second amendment and the right to bear arms," said Troy Uhlir, Chairman of the Madison County Board of Commissioners. Uhlir also encourages those who have concerns about any items on the board’s agenda to come to the meetings and voice their opinions.
