Mobile County officials back sheriff, oppose Alabama efforts to end concealed carry permits

(Dreamstime/TNS) TNS Commissioners representing Alabama’s second-largest county voted unanimously Tuesday to support their sheriff in recommending that state lawmakers do not support legislation next year to abolish concealed carry permits in Alabama. The three-member Mobile County Commission’s vote was not an official resolution, but merely a “statement” that they do not support legislation introduced in Montgomery to remove the requirement that gun owners need to purchase a pistol permit to conceal carry their firearms.
