Murphy signs executive order on gun safety in Asbury Park

ASBURY PARK – Gov. Phil Murphy has signed an executive order today on gun safety in Asbury Park. News 12 is told the order focuses on making data public on gun stats. Police in the town were busy the last two months investigating two shootings which left a total of six people injured and a little boy dead. MORE: Police: 5 men injured in weekend drive-by shooting in Asbury Park The most recent shooting happened last weekend when a drive by shooting on Atlantic and Monmouth avenues left five men injured. Back in February, a shooting killed a 10-year-old boy at his home on Ridge Avenue, also injuring his mother. Two suspects were arrested following the shooting. The executive order strengthening gun laws in New Jersey is continuing one of Murphy’s campaign promises.
