NM county votes to become a ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary County’

The Quay County Commission voted unanimously in favor of the resolution. They say it’s in response to several gun-control bills pending in state legislature. One of them is House Bill 8, which would require background checks on all gun sales. The New Mexico Sheriff’s Association has come forward saying the laws are ill-conceived, unenforceable and punish law abiding citizens. The House Republicans issued a statement Wednesday saying they are proud of Quay County for standing up for the rights of New Mexicans.
