RALLS COUNTY, Mo. (WGEM) — Ralls County Commissioners have made a proclamation that they will defend gun rights in the county. Ralls County Western District commissioner John Lake said the commissioners made the proclamation this week supporting the 2nd Amendment Preservation Act that passed the Missouri house Thursday. Lake said it’s a joint effort between county commissioners and the sheriff’s office to support gun rights locally. It’s all because there is renewed concern that gun control legislation might come up on the federal level. "We would really like to give a little comfort to our local folks into our voters that we are doing our part to make sure we stand up for the second amendment," said Lake. He said the aim of this move is to make it so local law enforcement or governments won’t have to enforce laws they feel are in conflict with the right to bear arms.
