Old West Gun Store – Redding REDDING, Calif. — As gun control has become an ongoing hot topic nationwide, KRCR took the question to a Northstate gun store on if they’re seeing an increase in gun and ammo sales. KRCR spoke with Richard Howell who says their gun sales haven’t necessarily increased more recently, but have stayed consistent throughout this past year. They saw an increase in gun and ammo sales starting last march, gradually increased with the riots, and again after the elections this past November. He says this in turn has actually placed them with another hurdle: supply shortages. Ammo Old West Gun Store – Redding Howell adds that keeping their shelves stocked has been a recurring issue they have yet to catch up on. “There really hasn’t been a heightened amount of firearms sales because of the tragedies in Denver and Atlanta,” said Howell. “It’s always the second part of that and that is legislative debates in Washington DC on what’s going to happen. And that is what increases the demand on guns and ammo. It’s that across the United States individuals and gun stores are believing that their Second Amendment rights are going to be hindered even more so they go out and buy more.” Howell adds this isn’t the first time their customers have voiced their concerns on their second amendment rights possibly being altered as we as a nation have been down this road before with past mass shootings.
