The Boulder County Libertarian Party is urging “pro-Second Amendment citizens” to show up and speak at Tuesday night’s Longmont City Council meeting. County Libertarians posted that “call to action” on Facebook on Monday morning, saying: “If you are concerned about a gun ban spreading to Longmont from Boulder, then we need your voice heard.” Boulder City Council members voted unanimously on May 15 to adopt an ordinance prohibiting the sale and possession of assault weapons and outlawing high-capacity magazines and bump stocks. The Longmont City Council has not directed the city staff to draft such a measure for its consideration, and there is no such proposed ban on the council’s published Tuesday night agenda.
