Second Amendment rally held in Harrisburg

Legislators and residents advocating for Second Amendment rights mingled on the steps of the State Capitol Monday. Local legislators showed their support of the retention of Second Amendment rights Monday. The annual Second Amendment Rally was held in Harrisburg and State Rep. Martin Causer, R-Turtlepoint, attended while Senator Cris Dush, R-25, spoke to those at the rally. “The Second Amendment rally is something we’ve held annually here at the capitol for many years and it’s always something I participate in,” Causer said. “It is vitally important for us to remain vigilant in protecting our Constitutional Rights.” Following the rally, Dush told The Era via email that lawful gun owners “are not the problem when it comes to unlawful violence. They are often the solution.” He also said, “President Biden was wrong when he said rights are not absolute. Article 1, Section 25 of the Pennsylvania Constitution speaks to that where it states: ‘To guard against transgressions of the high powers which we have delegated, we declare that everything in this article is excepted out of the general powers of government and shall forever remain inviolate.’ When it says ‘everything in this article’ it means everything in Article 1; the Bill of Rights in Pennsylvania.
