Second Rod of Iron Festival kicks off in Pike County draws thousands.jpg GREENLEY, PIKE COUNTY (WOLF) — One of the largest open carry events in the nation is being held in our area this weekend drawing in thousands of people to celebrate the 2nd Amendment and the constitution. The second annual Rod of Iron Freedom Festival kicked off at the Tommy Gun Warehouse in Greeley this morning for people to celebrate 2nd Amendment. Gun enthusiasts had a chance to enjoy shooting competitions, educational seminars and plenty more. “It’s not about hunting just recreational shooting, no it’s to keep tyrants off of our backs and people have to understand that the founding fathers were not kidding around when they made the second amendment," said organizer, Greg Noll. Packed with patriotic displays, live music, food and vendor booths – the event drew in over two thousand people today, many in strong support of President Trump. Some visitors checked out the 600 yard shooting range while others took part in a motorcade tribute to honor veterans and active military personnel. Since it’s an open carry festival, Noll encourages people to bring their firearms. “Rifles and everything are zip tied at the entrance so there’s no live fire here. Unless you’re a concealed carry owner then of course that’s allowed here because that’s our God given right," said Noll.
