Students worried about being expelled for gun protests should know their rights

The student-led movement calling for stricter background checks and gun control will continue with a planned national school walkout on April 20. The date coincides with the anniversary of the deadly Columbine High School shooting in 1999, in which two students gunned down 12 classmates and a teacher in Colorado. But some Plano students contacted The Dallas Morning News, saying they were threatened with expulsion if they hold such events at school.
