They should be held liable for the damages that result from their negligence. My husband keeps his in a locked gun safe; why don’t these other people? Additionally, age restrictions for owning and purchasing guns need to be implemented, as well as more intense background checks. Finally, certain types of weapons should require special licenses. Not everyone needs to own an AK-47. Although it may be impossible to eliminate all gun violence, these measures would certainly reduce it. Members of Congress work for us — not for the NRA. It’s time for them to stand up and protect their constituents by passing reasonable gun-control legislation.
