WATCH: Gillibrand Takes Aim At The NRA During Fox News Town Hall And It Doesn’t Go As Planned

Source: AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) took aim at the National Rifle Association on Sunday during her town hall on Fox News. She set herself up to be this strong proponent of gun control laws and legislation. In fact, she criticized the NRA and made a number of false statements about the pro-gun group. She also seemed to forget that before she ran for the Senate, she wrote a letter to the NRA, praising the group for their work to protect the Second Amendment. In that letter, she said she wanted to work with the pro-Second Amendment organization. Suddenly she’s doing a complete 180, calling the group the "worst organization in this country." She also pushed the false narrative that the NRA "sells guns" to people. She must have missed the memo: the NRA represents the average gun owner, not gun manufacturers. In fact, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is the firearms industry trade association. That group represents gun manufacturers.
