What is the answer to providing a safe school environment for kids, lowering the risk of gun violence?

These recommendations are not original to me but I believe they are correct. That we look at mass shootings in the same light as Pearl Harbor or 9/11. That we have a national effort to harden those soft targets that can be efficiently hardened,. That we get social media companies aware of their responsibilities to monitor the use of their platforms for preattack cues (like a person posting a picture of themselves pointing a gun at their own head among many others). That our nation’s media voluntarily sit down and develop guidelines for covering these events in ways that reduce the “"glory” or “fame” of the individual and the potential for copycattimg. That we offer reduced fee or free training in spotting pre attack cues to teachers and staff of colleges, schools, preschools. That we allow teachers who pass a background check and receive training to carry concealed on school grounds. Yes, they are teachers and should be teaching but it’s extremely difficult to teach anything when you are dead. That we get back to enrolling our nation’s youth in structured social programs like the Boy Scouts. Fun fact, no Eagle Scout has ever committed a mass shooting. Don’t like the Boy Scouts, form your own organization and encourage academic success, empathy for and service to others.
